SNIP is a collaborative healthcare industry-wide process resulting in the implementation of standards and furthering the development and implementation of future standards. WEDI SNIP has been established to meet the immediate need to assess industry-wide HIPAA Administrative Simplification implementation readiness and to bring about the national coordination necessary for successful compliance. SNIP is a forum for coordinating the necessary dialog among industry implementers of healthcare standards. SNIP will identify industry "best practices" for implementation of healthcare standards. SNIP will identify coordination issues leading toward their resolution as industry adopted "best practices." |

Healthcare Users Group
The New York Healthcare User Group's (NY HUG) mission is to promote the use of electronic data interchange (EDI) by conducting a forum where information and ideas can be shared between the participants. With the enactment of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act's (HIPAA) standard transaction and code sets, the role of the NY HUG will include facilitating the implementation of the final rule. Specifically, the NY HUG will disseminate issues, proposed resolutions and recommendations formulated at the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) Strategic National Implementation Process (SNIP) as they apply to our regional efforts. Issues not already identified by the SNIP committee but identified through the NY HUG will be brought to the attention of the SNIP committee, ensuring that our regional concerns and issues are known. |
